Theodore Stern has reached a crossroads – the moment when he is to venture beyond his home planet, Tsanak — in fact it will be the first time he's ventured further than his home city of New Leicester.

His travel opportunity has nothing to do with the day job. Theo has been handed an opportunity to pursue his true passion: writing the Great Spherical Novel.

Before writing, Theo needs to do research, and for that there is no better place than the Ring — that vast human habitat, and repository of all knowledge, that encircles Old Earth.

Except the research doesn’t add up. The history is inconsistent. The records contradict themselves. And the last thing Theo expects, or wants, to uncover is a conspiracy.
 
Undaunted — and now accompanied by his friend and colleague, Jemma Pickett— the pair dig deep into their travel knowledge on a journey across the Sphere of Influence that, for Theo, becomes less about writing a novel…
